Love never fails

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices in the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.
These words are the tail end of Paul's descriptions of love in its truest form.
If you are in love, if you love someone, if you are exemplifying the love of CHrist then you rejoice in the truth. You find your happiness and truly rejoice in the truth of knowing that God is all that His word says He is and will do all that the BIble says He will. With that knowledge you take no pleasure in evil or in evil things. You have no fellowship with evil thoughts or desires but you constantly rejoice in truth.
Love always protects, trusts, hopes and perseveres. I tell you what. In recent months it is no secret that my world has changed, it has even at times seemed like it was turned upside down. During these times I was going through trials, my integrity was questioned and I was beaten up over some things. Some of the people who "said" they loved me and cared for me were the ones who lead the attack. It hurt, it stung and it left scars. But, on the other hand I found out who really loved me. There were those who came to my defense, stood up for me and backed me 100% that is exactly what is meant by love never fails. When you're backed in a corner or really down you want to know that those who love you will stand right there. I can testify, they are right there with you. True love, Christlike love trusts, hopes, protects and perseveres.
In 1 Thesselonians we are told to give thanks in all circumstances. Not for all circumstances but in all circumstances. While I felt a little beat up, and a little down, I was able to rejoice and give thanks in the middle of the storm because I knew right then that I had a lot of people who truly loved me and supported me. That is the end result that Paul is looking for when he was describing true Cristlike Love.
Thanks for reading and have an awesome Friday and Weekend!
