Romans 16:17-18

I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them. For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive.
Clearly Paul tells us to watch out for people who cause divisions and create obstacles. There are people everywhere involved in every thing that are interested in creating divisions. It happens in churches all the time. Leaders of churches should never act in a way that brings about division. Every move they must ask themselves two things: Is this God's will, and will this cause anyone to stumble. God's will is not division and certainly not for anyone to stumble.
Secondly, he tells us not just to watch out for them but to avoid them. We have to stay away from these types of people at all cost. They are people who are looking for a lot of things in ministry, but not God's will. We do need to be glad that the Gospel is being presented by such people, but we also need to avoid being a part of their divisions. Nothing healthy can come out of a church that is full of division. We must promote unity first and foremost.

Thanks for reading and have a great soggy day!
