never abandoned

I want to share a story with you that I have known about for quite some time. I wanted to wait until I was at another youth pastor's meeting to get the rest of the details. So, I got all the details and here they are.
One night after about 11pm while working late a youth pastor was in his office and took a peak outside before leaving. He saw a young man looking into his car with his face pressed against the glass. Not really thinking it through, the young youth pastor walked out the door and asked if the young man needed help with something. He turned and just asked if he could get something to drink. Said he was walking and needed a drink. The youth pastor let him in and showed him where the water fountain and restrooms were. The youth pastor then asked him if he could do anything else for him and asked him his name. He told him his name and they chatted for a few minutes. THe youth pastor then asked if he could pray with him. The young mand started getting really nervous and told him how he had been going in and out of church for several years and really trying hard to seek after God but he kept falling harder each time. He told him how he was really just wanting to break into the youth pastor's car and steal some things to go sell for crack. How his last 5 months have been a journey to find the next high from crack and that was all that drove him. He shared all this and then the youth pastor prayed with him. He then reached into his bag and handed the youth pastor his crack pipe and some other drug related items and started crying and smiling at the same time. The youth pastor then took him home and shared the Gospel with him and his girlfriend. The young man prayed and accepted Christ then the next day he got a call from a company that he had applied with months before offering him the job. The youth pastor drove him to the interview process and continued to pick him up after work each day and take him to get dinner. Then, the young man told him he had done some terrible things and it was time for him to face them. So, the youth pastor took him to see a few detective friends and got him a chance to talk with them. He was booked into the jail and continues to go to the chapel services and keep close contact with the youth pastor from teh inside.
Psalm 9:10 says, "Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you."
That young man had sought after God, tried attending church and tried to be "religious". A word I definitely don't like at all. But, he had fallen each time until GOd grabbed him. He was on a mission for some crack, but GOd had far better plans for his mission that night. God never forsakes those who seek Him. If you know someone who is unsaved, continue to pray for them, continue to help them seek Him.
THanks for reading and have a great weekend! My Alexa turns 9 tomorrow! Yikes.
