Finding your leader's joy

Paul shared it, it's all about teamwork. Whether it's a corporation, a sports team or a church it is all about teamwork and likemindedness. If you work for a huge corporation your job is to contribute all that you can to the bettering of your particular area of that corporation. If you are on a sports team, it is you job to work as hard as you can to get better at your position so that you can fully contribute when the time comes and help the team. If you are involved in your church, it is your job to grow as a Christian and to work hard at it so that when the time comes you can share your faith and help the church reach others.
Each of those are examples of what Paul is talking about in Philippians chapter 2.

If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded,having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose.

How do you find your boss's happiness? By working hard to get along with co-workers and having the same passion and work ethic as all of your co-workers. How do you find your pastor's happiness? By being like minded, looving Christ and being one spirit and purpose. If we want to see our communities changed for Christ it takes a whole group of people. One person on fire for Christ will definitely make a difference, but if that person brings their friends and others into a body of believers that are luke warm or even stagnant then his hard work is nullified. There's nothing worse than bringing a friend to church, wanting them to experience the richness and fullness of being in an atmosphere filled with the Holy Spirit and then have them encounter people who are unhappy. People who have an agenda other than bringing glory to God and spreading teh Gospel.
As a church we have to reach out together daily to grow closer to Christ. To love one another and make sure that what people see in us is Christ. THen, and only then will we impact this community for God. What does Paul say are the things we that we should exemplify? Likemindedness, same love for Christ and one another and one spirit and purpose. Each of those are pieces of a life lived for Christ in a church that is vibrant and living for Christ.
Thanks for reading and have a great day!
