This race season has been an interesting one. Over the past few months(with many rainouts mixed in) I have been on a bit of a roll. I went from 35th place in the points to 3rd in two races. And now, I am tied for first in the points. Things have really come together for us. This past Saturday night I won 5 rounds, each of them tough races, no easy runs I had to race someone tough every round. Well, as the night went on I built more and more confidence. When you get on a roll you feel like nothing can stop you. But, fifth round my brakes went out making it impossible for me to be able to stage the car, so the next round I was in the final and lost because of something that was out of my control.
You see, when everything was working correctly I was fine and felt in control. But, when the brakes went out I realized that I didn't have total control over the circumstances.
Life can be the same way. We do not have total control over life or what goes on in life. Life can throw us a curve ball as quickly as it can keep going the way it is.
2 Corinthians 1:9 says, "Indeed, in our hearts we felt the setence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God."
Things happen in life, some of them directly to us, some to those around us. Many times they happen for no reason but to help us keep focus of the fact that God is in control and until we rely fully on Him, we will continue to fall.
Thanks so much for reading and have a great day!
