Weeding

Have you ever seen the movie Bruce Almighty? Well, in the movie Jim Carrey is Bruce and he is handed over the job of becoming God. He has to do several things that God takes care of and one of my favorites is when he is answering emails. The emails are requests for things in the form of prayers. So, Bruce can't deal with it all so he starts answering them all yes. It's funny because the next day there are over 100,000 lottery winners and there is a group of people who lost weight on the "Crispy Creme Donut Diet".
Well, yesterday Jordon and I were out at Freedom Baptist Church after we got off of work and weed eating in their ditches until almost dark. I was thinking though about how we are cutting down these huge, waist high weeds knowing that just a few months ago someone had done it and that soon we will probably have to do it again ourselves. How much more frustrating it must be for God to prune and pull weeds in our lives only to have to do it time and time again. I'm not a big fan of wasting time and weedeating and grass mowing to me are wastes of time because we only get done to see the need to do it again a few days later.
Do you ever wonder how God felt when His people were wandering in the desert? A short trip became a lifetime of disaster because they couldn't just follow Him. How about your life, you get God's direction, confess your sins, and then a few days or even a few hours later you're back at square one. What an amazing God we serve? God's grace is so far beyond our comprehension that I need not even attempt to put it into words.
Thanks for reading and have a wonderful day!
