SO I know that a lot of people think I wear too many hats during the week. Just a few weeks ago I coached highschool softball on Monday, Little league softball on Tuesday and THursday, did Youth on Wednesday, on Tuesday and THursday of that week I went to pedro football as the chaplain, Thursday before football I went and helped coach middle school softball, and on Friday I played in church softball, I worked 4 full days at the Betty Griffin House, I raced that Saturday night, I made hospital visits with my Pastor hat on and lunch visits to 3 different schools to hang out with our teenagers. I did all this plus played ball with my daughters, went to little ninjas with P.J. and did the daddy time as well. Why? Why on earth and what in the world would drive me to live like that? One simple verse from Paul in 1 Corinthians chapter 9.
Though I am free and belong to no man, I make myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God's law but am under Christ's law), so as to win those not having the law. To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some.I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.
I am by no means a Paul, or a prophet by an stretch of the imagination, but I do everthing that I do for the spread of the Gospel. I cannot say that all of my endeavors have been fruitful or productive in the world's eyes but I can say that none of them have come back void.
Monday afternoon I was at football practice at Pedro, Tuesday I was at football then helping coach Alexa's softball team. This morning I will be helping a friend at Murray set up for their dance recital and praying with the dancers who want to pray before the show starts. Again, I will become everything I can, wear every hat possible that will allow me to share the Gospel with more people. It honestly is not about growing a church so much as it is about impacting God's kingdom.
Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!
