working His way

I remember working for a close friend in the masonry field. I recall getting trained and taught how to do all the things that we needed to be able to do to get jobs done in the stucco area. I remember that first day looking at my buddy Steven and thinking that there is no way I was ever going to get more mud on the wall than what I dropped on the ground. But, a few days later we were actually getting it on the wall. Then, we thought we had it so we took on some larger jobs and did some whole houses and even a few large businesses and office buildings. We would work all day, work our way around and feel good about ourselves. That is, until a friend of Steven's who had taught us showed up on a job one Monday morning to see how we were doing, he then checked in again on Thursday thinking we should be done already and we were a little over half way done. He actually asked us if we enjoyed our vacation because surely we had taken a day or two off. To be honest we were physically exhausted. Then he showed us some tricks, and taught us how to work smart and more efficient instead of so hard. That was a valuable lesson that I could never put a price tag on.
"So he said to me, 'This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: "Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit," says the Lord Almighty."'" - Zechariah 4:6
God says, not by might or power but by His SPirit. We must learn how to work smart, and how to use our lives and abilites efficiently. In all honesty this means anything we are doing that isn't God's will for us is wasted energy. And wasted energy will only frustrate you in the long run. THere's no need to exhaust yourself when you're chasing your own desires instead of GOd's. God's will and His desires for your life will never come back void, yours will.
So pray over all the things that you do, every endeavor from the small and minuscule to the overwhelmingly huge. Let God reveal to you His plans in every aspect of your life and find complete and true efficiency in life.
Thanks for reading and have a great day!
